Soon we will have horses, the Wither, bats, witches, and a bunch of other awesome things. This update will happen soon but don't expect it in a month or so because this is what 4jstudios said to a comment that asked the same question you are asking.
This obviously means it may be a while. I will have more information regarding this soon. THERE IS HOPE FOR US CONSOLE EDITIONERS!!!
